Booking terms

Carmine lists wedding and event venues, shows you which dates and slots are free, and lets you request one. When you request a date, we write it into the venue’s own diary and hold the slot so nobody else can take it while the venue looks at your request. You are given a reference number at that moment.

A held date is not a confirmed booking. It becomes one when the venue confirms it — you will see that in your planning journal and in your chat with them.

We do not take payment. No card, wallet or bank transfer passes through this site, and we never ask for payment details. Anything you pay, you pay the venue directly, by whatever method you agree with them.

We do not set prices. A venue may publish a starting figure so you can shortlist, but that is a floor, not a quote. The actual cost of your event is agreed between you and the venue and depends on your date, your numbers and what you choose. Your venue records what you agreed on an invoice you can read in your planning journal.

We do not run your event. Catering, décor, timings, staff and everything that happens on the day is the venue’s, under whatever agreement you make with them.

An unconfirmed request holds the slot for 72 hours. If the venue has not confirmed it by then, the hold expires and the date returns to the diary. You will not be charged for a hold, and letting one lapse costs you nothing.

You may hold a small number of dates at once. If you reach the limit, settle one with the venue before requesting another — this exists so that real dates are not blocked by speculative holds.

Cancellation, postponement, refunds and any advance you have paid are entirely between you and your venue, under the terms they gave you. Ask them for those terms in writing before you pay anything — a reputable hall will provide them without hesitating.

Cancelling in Carmine releases the date back into the diary. It does not, on its own, undo any agreement you made with the venue or return any money you have paid them.

Keep your sign-in details to yourself. You are responsible for what happens under your account. If you think someone else has access, change your password and tell us.

Use the concierge and the chat for planning your event. Abuse, spam, or attempts to reach other people’s bookings will end the account.

Only a customer whose event has actually taken place can leave a review. We do not write reviews, and we do not remove one for being unflattering. We will remove a review that is abusive, names a private individual, or is not about the event it claims to be about.

Carmine is responsible for the service on this site: keeping the diary accurate, holding the date it says it has held, and looking after your information. We are not responsible for a venue’s performance, for what an event costs, or for any agreement between you and a venue.

Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law in your country.
